New limited release for the upcoming Lunar New Year! Get ready for the transformative Year of the Snake with the gently spicy Ginger Mocambo bar to fortify and lift your spirits. Does that sentence sound like I’m bracing for this upcoming year? Well, I might be… but what better way to do so than through chocolate! Some Arhuacos cacao blended with creamy wild Peruvian Mocambo and spiced up with some local organic ginger (I had saved some of my last fall’s harvest for this occasion!)

Now on the shelf in the shop and will be at the on Sunday, Jan 26 (in the Port Moody Rec Centre Parkkng lot from 10-2)

Last two experimental batches of the year!

Saskatoon Berry with cocoa nibs : the chocolate looks dark from all the Saskatoons, but is actually a light bar with extra nibs for a crunchy, fruity bar.

Tasmanian Mountain Pepper: a floral lovely flavour in the fresh cracked pepper sprinkled on top of the Pangoa 70%.

Pepper is already running low, but the Saskatoon is just coming to the shelf later today. Also, both were in the drop at this morning!

New collaboration limited bar releasing today!

is a local like-minded coffee roaster. He roasts in small batches from transparently traded coffee beans supporting independent farmers and projects.

This bar uses ghost roaster’s Guatemalan coffee from Tzun Witz farm in Concepcion Huista, Huehuetenango, Guatemala. I combined this with the Colombian beans from the Arhuaco Indigenous community in the Sierra Nevada region. The orange blossom notes of the coffee blend with the grapefruit notes of the cacao for a light fruity accent to the deep cocoa and coffee flavours. The bar is also sweetened only with pure maple sugar from , keeping this bar a full local collab!

These will be on the shelf today and I will bring them to the tomorrow morning (10-2 at the Port Moody Rec Centre)

Melons are back! 🍈 Lovely melons from took a little while to make it into the bars. First, they had to get sliced up, then I got a little help from .ca to freeze dry them, then after they got back to me, it just took a while in line to get into the bars.

Now, though, these chocolate melons are available two ways - extra dark with no sugar or super light style. Releasing tomorrow (Sunday, Nov 10) at the where you can find me at the Port Moody Rec Centre from 10-2.

pop up this weekend!

I have opened the refill advents and will be opening to new orders later this week and realized that I needed an extra drop off day for trays, so what better than a pop up at my favorite Port Moody gift shop?

So, sometimes (*ahem, maybe all too often*) as a solopreneur, I forget to do things or I think I have when I actually haven’t. Say, replying to a message or email in a timely way or getting my financials up to date, or ADVERTISING MY CHOCOLATE CLASS 🤦‍♀️

Single origins hot chocolate packets are back in stock! Thanks so much to Nicole and Gino from for making it happen in time for the tomorrow morning! I know there are some of who have been asking for the last few markets.

Come find them and all the current chocolate selection at the Market on Winslow Ave 9am to 1pm. They will be back in stock this week in the shop, too!

Tomorrow will be my last Coquitlam Market of the season, but I will be back at the Port Moody Market in November.

Do you know the story of 1000 paper cranes? The just is that if you fold 1000 cranes, the sincere wish that you make will come true. This is often used for wishes of healing and peace. It can be folded by groups, such as classmates, friends, families, and the cranes are usually gathered into strings of cranes called sembazuru. It is also generally accepted that there can be a year to achieve this.

I want to make is a sembazuru for . My wish is for a genuine new relationship between our Settler and Indigenous communities in Canada that can lead to healing, flourishing, respect, honor, and thriving. That this relationship can acknowledge the difficult truth of how this colonial country was created, see the deep injustice, and then, as we move forward, give back, hold hands, listen and learn what moving to justice and healing trauma looks like. I believe we can walk more gently, more thoughtfully, more humbly, hand-in-hand through this world, but it takes time, empathy, understanding, and love.

I know that paper cranes in themselves are just paper cranes, but maybe each one can hold a spark of new approaches, new recognition, reflection, what each person needs in the places that they are to take the next step and the wish can come true.

Find the orange paper with instructions in the package or come by the shop to fold a crane with no purchase necessary. If you are remote tag me on Instagram and I and going to gather a virtual collection of the cranes, too!

The latest no sugar creation… I couldn’t decide if I wanted to add dates or not, so I did both!

The chocolate is a Theobroma blend again, but using just Ecuadorian cacao and a higher percentage of wild Peruvian bicolor (aka mocambo) and then adding a touch of cinnamon. Or choose it with the added sweetness and texture of dates!

Find them (and me) at the in the morning! (Sunday 9-1)
