It is with heavy hearts that Fraser and I share the news that we have decided to close Lift Breakfast Bakery and Lift Production Bakery. It has been the pleasure of a lifetime to bring my passion project to this amazing community and be embraced with open arms. It was the hardest seven years of our lives by far, but also some of the most rewarding. Sharing my love for simple but elevated food was pure joy. The challenges we faced always seemed to make us stronger and more determined to beat the odds. The road we chose through the pandemic had calculated risks that did not reward in the ways we had planned. And so we find ourselves coming out the other side with outcomes we did not predict and unmanageable struggles that signal us to call an end to the journey. We wish to acknowledge our amazing staff who breathed life and personality into Lift, making it a truly special place to be. And endless thanks too you, our community, for all of your loyal support, candid conversations, kind words and constructive critiques that cumulatively made Lift an ever evolving force of life in Lower Lonsdale. We are very proud of what we built and grew, and hope our legacy will live on in your memories for many years to come.

For a very special way to celebrate Mom, join us for a High Tea experience on Sunday May 14, in the afternoon. We will take reservations for either a 1:00pm or a 3:00pm seating, please request reservations through [email protected]. Regular brunch service before this will run form 8:30am-11:30am and we will as usual not take reservations. Last orders will be taken at 11:30am in order to prepare for High Tea.

Due to the heat, LIFT PRODUCTION BAKERY will be closed on Saturday July 30 and Sunday July 31. These high temperatures cause a huge strain on our equipment and staff and as a result we have determined it is safer to close for a few days. Sorry for the inconvenience and hope to see you soon when the temperatures drop a bit.

Our Cafe Lift Breakfast Bakery Ltd on Lonsdale will be open normally.
