"Goldies YVR is the sister cafe to a Korean cafe located in Suwon, South Korea. They are known for their soft and fluffy brioche donuts that go through a 24 hour fermentation process.
The Vancouver location is nestled in the picturesque Horseshoe Bay Village. It really does feel like youāve stepped into the scene of a movie once you sit down at any of the tables. The wrap around windows offer an unobstructed view of the bay, and the busy yet calm atmosphere inside the shop was oddly relaxing.
We tried out five of their signature creamed filled brioche donuts, and all were delicious in their own way. None of the cream fillings were too sweet, but the star of the show was definitely the brioche dough itself. Iāve never had a brioche donut that was so light and airy, it was like biting into a cloud. Most brioche donuts that Iāve tried in the past have had that distinct grease flavour from the fryerābut these ones from Goldie had none which was a welcome surprise.
I also tried out their signature Nutty Cloud latte which was an experience in itself. The peanut butter cream that this latte is topped off with was dangerously addicting, and complimented the espresso perfectly.
If I lived closer to this cafe Iād be coming here everyday. Itās the perfect place to work, study, or just to sit and press pause on your day.
